Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals Expands Production Capabilities to Revolutionize Dietary Supplements and OTC Drugs

Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a leading global healthcare supplier, has announced a significant expansion in its manufacturing capabilities for dietary supplements and over-the-counter (OTC) drugs. The company has incorporated four additional Stokes 328 tablet presses, enhancing its ability to produce larger tablets for its innovative Cyclosome® Technology and Guaifenesin OTC drug products.

Two of the newly acquired presses will be exclusively dedicated to Hi-Tech’s groundbreaking weight management product, SLIMAGLUTIDE®, and other Cyclosome® products. The remaining two presses will contribute to the production of Ameripharm brand OTC products and collaborate with store brands to introduce a high-quality generic version of the widely-used cough and mucus fighter, Mucinex tablets.

The OTC product in focus is a combination of guaifenesin 1200-mg and dextromethorphan HBr 60-mg extended-release tablets, designed to control coughs and break up mucus for increased productivity. With the over-the-counter cold and flu market exceeding $12 billion in revenue and an annual growth potential of 7%, according to Statista, Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals aims to tap into this sizable market.

Jared Wheat, CEO of Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded offerings, stating, “This is another great example of the Hi-Tech and Ameripharm teams continuing to leverage their unique capabilities in providing U.S. consumers greater savings and access to key new store brand over-the-counter products.”

With operations spanning over four US facilities, encompassing a total of over 600,000 sq. ft., Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals boasts extensive manufacturing capacity. Prior to the recent expansion, the company could produce 40 billion tablets annually on its 50 tablet presses and 12 billion capsules on its 20 high-speed automatic and 10 semi-automatic encapsulating machines.

Highlighting the company’s comprehensive capabilities, Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals can also package 500 million bottles, 250 million blister packs, and 150 million pacquettes. The company’s ultramodern facilities cover the production of tablets, capsules, liquids, energy shots, beverages, RTD’s, animal health products, and protein and pre-workout powders.

As a cGMP certified company with a focus on quality and customer service, Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals positions itself as a leading player in the global healthcare supply chain, offering a broad and high-quality product portfolio.

For more than four decades, since its inception in 1979, Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals has been dedicated to providing custom manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical, dietary supplement, and beverage industries. The recent equipment expansion further solidifies the company’s commitment to innovation, quality, and meeting the diverse needs of its customers worldwide.
