Zinplex: Uses, How It Works, Dosage, Side Effects

Zinplex Mineral Supplement is formulated with a range of special, skin-strengthening ingredients to help combat pimples, acne, eczema and cold sores. Its immune boosting properties can even help combat colds and flu.

Each tablet of Zinplex contains:

Zinc picolinate (equivalent to 8.3 mg elemental zinc) – 39.6 mg: Zinc is an essential micronutrient that is crucial to almost every aspect of your health. It’s second only to iron as the most abundant trace mineral in your body. Research shows that this mineral may enhance immune function, stabilize blood sugar levels, and help keep your skin, eyes, and heart healthy.

Selenium AAC 2% (equivalent to 20 µg elemental selenium)- 1 mg: Selenium plays an important role in the health of your immune system. This antioxidant helps lower oxidative stress in your body, which reduces inflammation and enhances immunity. Studies have demonstrated that increased blood levels of selenium are associated with enhanced immune response. On the other hand, deficiency has been shown to harm immune cell function and may lead to a slower immune response. Selenium may prevent aging of the skin. It also slows the aging process.

Zinplex may assist in maintaining good health and is beneficial during incidents of cold sores, colds and flu. Can assist with pimples and acne.

How do zinc and selenium affect immune function?

Zinc and selenium work great together, working with what is known in biology as a synergistic effect. The synergistic effect is when the interaction between chemical substances cause an effect that is greater than the sum of the individual effect of any of the substances.

First, zinc promotes immunity through direct and indirect antioxidants mechanisms, as it is crucial for the development and correct functioning of cells that are responsible for the body’s immunity such as macrophages, large cells found in the tissues or as white blood cells when an infection occurs. When you are in deficiency of zinc, your body isn’t able to produce healthy new cells, leading to a lower immune system thanks to a lower amount of cells fighting viruses and infections. Additionally, zinc deficiency not only compromises immunity but also shifts the immune system towards an inflammatory state.

Then we have selenium, which works as an important antioxidant in the body, reducing inflammation and enhancing immunity, and it also prevents the mutation of viruses and the appearance and new high-pathogenic strains. Although a selenium deficiency is rare and mostly seen in patients over 60 years old, it is important to make sure to get a proper intake and that the body correctly absorbs it if you don’t want to lose the immune benefits of it.
