SHL Medical Partners with Lifecore Biomedical to Advance Drug Delivery Solutions

SHL Medical, a global leader in advanced drug delivery systems, has forged a non-exclusive co-marketing partnership agreement with Lifecore Biomedical, a Nasdaq-listed Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO). Lifecore is known for its expertise in developing, filling, and finishing complex sterile injectable pharmaceutical products in syringes and vials.

The partnership involves Lifecore joining SHL’s recently introduced Alliance Management program, designed to enhance SHL’s vertically integrated business model by facilitating collaboration with other key players in the drug delivery ecosystem.

Under this agreement, SHL and Lifecore will share knowledge and experience from their respective fields, enabling them to offer unparalleled guidance in CDMO services and exceptional options for drug delivery device development.

SHL, a pioneer in autoinjectors, provides drug delivery device solutions and vertically integrated capabilities for the development, manufacturing, and final assembly of its autoinjector products. This collaboration with Lifecore will allow SHL to recommend a trusted CDMO with a strong reputation for aseptic pharmaceutical manufacturing and primary container filling. This comprehensive support system will cover all phases of autoinjector development and commercialization.

Kimberlee Steele, Managing Director of SHL Pharma, stated, “As a true partner to pharma and biotech, we believe in providing full end-to-end solutions that enhance patients’ quality of life and enable patients’ independence. We are excited to partner with Lifecore to provide high-quality CDMO services matching SHL’s own high-touch approach to servicing our customers.”

Darren Hieber, Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Partnerships for Lifecore, noted, “Our relationship with SHL will expand the breadth of our offerings to our CDMO customers, enabling them to deliver the benefits and convenience of innovative drug delivery systems to their patients worldwide. We are excited to be aligned with an industry leader, who has created a business focused on patient-centric solutions through their unique, convenient, high-quality product portfolio.”

This collaboration between SHL Medical and Lifecore is poised to enhance the development and accessibility of innovative drug delivery systems, ultimately benefiting patients and the healthcare industry as a whole.
