Flamin Pills: Ingredients, Uses, Dosage, Side Effects

Flamin is a herbal supplement with a choleretic, cholekinetic, choleretic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antispasmodic, and wound-healing effect. Flamin pills and granules are used in the management of the following diseases of the gallbladder, liver, and biliary tract:

  • biliary dyskinesia.
  • chronic cholecystitis.
  • chronic cholecystohepatitis.
  • cholelithiasis.

Based on the results of recent studies, it was revealed that the drug should be used in the complex therapy of atopic dermatitis, combined with the pathology of the gastrointestinal tract.

What are the ingredients in Flamin pills and granules?

Each 50 mg tablet of Flamin and granules contains the following active ingredient: the sum of the flavonoids of the flowers of the Immortelle sandy, scientifically known as (Helichrysum arenarium).

Tablets and granules contain the following substances as auxiliary components:

  • Magnesium carbonate;
  • Potato starch;
  • Corn starch;
  • Lactose monohydrate;
  • Calcium stearate.

How Flamin pills and granules work

Flamin pills and granules work by contributing to the secretion of cholesterol with bile, it has a cholesterol-lowering effect, has antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria. Flamin pills and granules strengthen the secretion of bile and increase the content of bilirubin in it, increase the tone of the gallbladder and promote the outflow of bile. This relaxing effect on the smooth muscles of the sphincters of the gallbladder and biliary tract changes the viscosity and chemical composition of bile.

Flamin pills and granules also stimulate the secretion of gastric juice and slow down the evacuation function of the stomach and intestines, it promotes better digestion of food.  The effect of Flamin pills and granules activates the exocrine activity of the pancreas; dilates the blood vessels of the intestine.

How should I take Flamin?

Take Flamin pills and granules exactly as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist. The tablets are the dosage form of Flamin for adults, and the granules are for children. Flamin tablets are intended for use only in adults and children over 5 years of age.

The tablets contain 50 mg of immortelle extract and are available in packs of 10 and 30 pieces.

Flamin granules are packaged in sachets containing a single dosage of the drug for children. Each sachet of granules contains 5 mg of immortelle extract. In some instructions, the dosage of granules is indicated as 1.38 g. However, this figure reflects the total weight of the granules in the bag and not the amount of the active ingredient. Thus, the dosage of the active ingredient in Flamin tablets is 10 times higher than in granules.

Take Flamin 30 minutes before meals (with a little warm water), 1 tablet 3 times a day, if necessary – 2 tablets 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 10-40 days.

Flamin tablets can be used in combination with other medications necessary for the complex therapy of liver and biliary tract diseases.

Can a pregnant woman take Flamin pills and granules?

No, Flamin pills and granules should be avoided during pregnancy. It should only be used if your doctor decides that the benefit to the mother outweighs the risk to the fetus.

Can a breastfeeding woman take Flamin pills and granules?

No, Flamin pills and granules should be avoided during breastfeeding because studies in breastfeeding women or animals are not available. The Amount of the constituent ingredients that are excreted into maternal milk in humans is not known.

What are the side effects of Flamin pills and granules?

Flamin pills and granules can cause allergic reactions in some people. Signs and symptoms of serious Flamin pills and granules allergy occur within an hour after taking a drug. Other reactions, particularly rashes, can occur hours, days, or weeks later.

Flamin pills and granules allergy signs and symptoms may include:

  • Skin rash
  • Hives
  • Itching
  • Fever
  • Swelling
  • Shortness of breath
  • Wheezing
  • Runny nose
  • Itchy, watery eyes

Anaphylaxis

Anaphylaxis is a rare, life-threatening reaction to a drug allergy that causes the widespread dysfunction of body systems. Signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis include:

  • Tightening of the airways and throat, causing trouble breathing
  • Nausea or abdominal cramps
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Weak, rapid pulse
  • Drop in blood pressure
  • Seizure
  • Loss of consciousness

Flamin pills and granules can also cause increased blood pressure in patients with arterial hypertension.

What drugs can interact with Flamin pills and granules?

The drug enhances the antibacterial effect of Metronidazole and Aminoquinol. The drug combines well with other medicines for the treatment of liver and biliary tract diseases.

Flamin has not been found to have significant interactions with any other drugs, so it can be used in combination with any other drugs that a person needs.

Shelf life and storage conditions

When buying, you need to pay attention to the shelf life, which is 5 years from the date of manufacture. Store Flamin in a dark and dry place at an air temperature of 8 – 25oС.
