Drugs Q & A

Can I Take 2 Bluechew Pills?

When one seeks medical attention, the first and foremost task handed to the physician is to assess the patient’s medical history and then prescribe an appropriate personalized medical regimen. Be it infectious diseases, chronic conditions, or metabolic disorders, prescription of medication is only the first step of proceedings. It is equally upon the patient, as much as it is upon the doctor and healthcare professionals examining him, to stick to his or her prescribed routine and get a follow-up check done on a regular basis.

The dose is the amount of drug taken at any one time. This can be expressed as the weight of the drug (e.g. 250 mg), the volume of drug solution (e.g. 10 mL, 2 drops), the number of dosage forms (e.g. 1 capsule, 1 suppository), or some other quantity (e.g. 2 puffs). The dosage regimen is the frequency at which the drug doses are given. Examples include 2.5 mL twice a day, one tablet three times a day, and one injection every four weeks.

The total daily dose is calculated from the dose and the number of times per day the dose is taken while the optimal dosage is the dosage that gives the desired effect with minimum side effects. There are many factors taken into consideration when deciding the dose of a drug – including the age of the patient, weight, sex, ethnicity, liver and kidney function, and whether the patient smokes. Other medicines may also affect the drug dose. Adherence and compliance are pivotal in ensuring an improved health outcome for the patient especially if he is suffering from a chronic condition and needs prolonged medical attention.

What are blue chew pills?

BlueChew pills are tablets of either sildenafil or tadalafil. Sildenafil is the active ingredient in Viagra and Revatio, while Tadalafil is the active ingredient in Cialis and Adcirca.

While Viagra and Cialis and the active ingredients used in them are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), the treatments offered through BlueChew are not independently FDA approved in their chewable form.

Here’s some more information about these ingredients:

  • Sildenafil. BlueChew sells sildenafil in 30- or 45-mg tablets. It usually works in 30 to 60 minutes but can be taken up to 4 hours before sexual activity. It wears off in 4 to 6 hours.
  • Tadalafil. BlueChew sells tadalafil in 6- or 9-mg tablets. It usually works in about 30 to 60 minutes, but it’s recommended that you take it daily to keep it in your system. It can be taken 24 hours or longer before sexual activity. It wears off in 24 to 36 hours.

Once you create an account with BlueChew, you can set up an online consultation with a licensed medical professional who can then write you a prescription for either sildenafil or tadalafil.

Can I Take 2 Bluechew Pills?

Bluechew sildenafil pills do not come in the standard FDA-approved forms. Sildenafil is prescribed at varying dosages depending on the severity of the condition, age, medical history, and weight of a patient. Sildenafil tablets typically come in 20 mg dosages, and patients requiring a higher dose of the medication simply take multiple tablets.

The lowest prescribed dose of sildenafil is 20 mg, while the highest recommended dose of sildenafil is 100 mg.  As noted previously, sildenafil is also used to treat high blood pressure and pulmonary atrial hypertension and was originally developed for the treatment of angina as a phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor (PDE5 inhibitor).

These conditions are generally treated with a 20 mg dose of sildenafil, while erectile dysfunction is treated with dosages ranging from 20 to 100 mg. So taking 2 pills of Bluechew sildenafil 30- or 45-mg tablets falls within this range,

Men are recommended to take the minimum dose that meets their needs. While the maximum dose of sildenafil is 100 mg, many men find that a lower dose provides the treatment they need.

Taking a higher dose of Bluechew sildenafil pills will increase your risk of experiencing side effects, including side effects that are potentially dangerous. Patients should never take more than 100 mg of sildenafil within 24 hours.

BlueChew also sells tadalafil. According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) dosing guidelines for ED symptoms, the recommended dose for tadalafil once daily is 2.5 mg to start and may be increased to 5 mg if needed. The recommended dose for as-needed tadalafil is 10 mg and may be adjusted up or down to a maximum of 20 mg.

Regardless of the condition being treated, the recommended maximum dose per day is 20 mg. This is the highest dosage that a doctor may prescribe. As a result, taking 2 pills of BlueChew tadalafil 6- or 9-mg tablets will still fall within this range. Doubling the maximum dose of BlueChew tadalafil can increase the chances of experiencing side effects including:

  • headaches
  • flushing
  • dizziness
  • back pain
  • vision and hearing changes

It may also cause priapism, an erection lasting longer than 4 hours, which can damage the penile tissue. If this occurs, an urgent medical evaluation is needed to prevent long-term damage.
